Andrew Charlesworth is a graduate of the University of Sheffield, having gained a first-class degree in Computer Science with a Year in Industry (plus some awards) here as a mature student. This was following a career change as a hospital nurse working in A&E and acute medical wards, culminating in the position as a charge nurse in care of the elderly. During his year in industry and following graduation, he spent some time working as a full-stack software engineer, creating cutting-edge cloud migration technology. It was during this role that he was given the opportunity to design and teach a coding academy course, training adult learners from varied backgrounds and careers to become full-stack software engineers.
