Dr Ali Gooya

Ali Gooya is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the School of Computing Science (IDA-Section) at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Before joining the University of Glasgow in 2022, he was a Lecturer in the School of Computing at the University of Leeds (2018-2022) and the University of Sheffield (2016-2018). He has won multiple prestigious fellowships, including Allen Touring Institute (2022), Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) short-term invitational (2020), FP7 Marie-Curie IIF (2014), and JSPS-PDRA (2008). He earned his PhD in medical image analysis from the University of Tokyo (2007). He joined the University of Pennsylvania as a post-doc research associate to develop machine learning methods for medical vision (2008-2011).
