I am a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Natural Language Processing at the Department of Computer Science, University of Sheffield, UK. I am a member of the Natural Language Processing group and part of the GATE team. My research is placed in the intersection of computer science, social science, psychology, and linguistics, with the main focus on the development of AI-powered models for social media analysis, used in real-world scenarios like fact checking. Two other key areas of my research are the development of multimodal and multilingual NLP models and the investigation of LLMs' safeguards and potential misuses.I have been the PI and CO-I for various UK and EU-funded projects, mainly in the field of social media analysis and disinformation, including EMIF ExU (Coordinator); HOR
