Dr Lauritz Thamsen

I am a Lecturer in Computer Systems in the School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow. My research aims to make computing more efficient, resilient, and sustainable. To this end, I work on adaptive resource management for data-intensive systems running on cloud and edge infrastructures, with a current focus on performance profiling and prediction for the carbon-aware execution of data analytics, scientific workflows, and AI/ML applications. I teach operating systems, systems programming, and cloud systems.
