简介

Jeff Cheeger is the Silver Professor of Mathematics at NYU's Courant Institute. His research focuses on the quantitative study of singular sets for geometric nonlinear PDEs, including Einstein manifolds and harmonic maps, and on metric measure spaces with sufficient regularity for first-order calculus, known as PI spaces.

教育经历

  • Ph.D., Mathematics, Princeton University, USA, 1967
  • M.S., Mathematics, Princeton University, USA, 1966
  • B.A., Mathematics, Harvard University, USA, 1964

代表成果

  • Compression bounds for Lipschitz maps from the Heisenberg group to L1
  • Lower bounds on Ricci curvature and quantitative behavior of singular sets
  • Quantitative stratification and the regularity of harmonic maps and minimal currents
