Mark Baskinger is a Professor at Carnegie Mellon University whose work spans industrial design, interaction design, and strategic visual thinking. His current scholarship explores Durational Design, a practice-based design inquiry that expands industrial design's temporal imagination through phenomenology, archaeology, and material practice. He is the co-author of Drawing Ideas® (Watson-Guptill, 2013), one of the most widely adopted design drawing texts of the past decade, now in its eighth printing and published internationally. His work has been exhibited at the Centre Pompidou, the Museum of Modern Art, the Vasarely Museum, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and museums and galleries throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, and is held
