简介

I am a Professor of Computing Science and Synthetic Biology at the School of Computing Science and a Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies. I am Director of Newcastle's Interdisciplinary Computing and Complex BioSystems (ICOS) Research Group and of the Centre for Synthetic Biology and the Bioeconomy. My research activities lie at the interface of Computing Science and the Natural Sciences, e.g. Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I apply my expertise on Machine Intelligence, Complex Systems and Unconventional Computing to Bioinformatics, Systems and Synthetic Biology.
