School/DepartmentSchool of Natural and Computing Sciences Biography I worked in both the Departments of Physics and Chemistry, teaching a range of courses including fundamental physics, modern physics, Advanced Practical Physics, Solid State Physics and Chemistry and coordinating Honours Projects.I also spent many years coordinating the Sixth Century Course "Mankind in the Universe", a multi-disciplinary look at how we make sense of the world around us using science, philosophy, anthropology and religion, and addressing these ideas to topical subjects in science: Climate Change, genetics, evolutions, medical sciences and so on.I hold a Personal Chair in Physics. From 2006-2008 I was Head of Physics, and from 2012-2018 I was Head of the School of Natural and Computing Sciences. I took early
