About

I am a researcher, designer, and maker. My research interests concern the social and technical complexities of digital transformation projects. This includes the impacts of digital skills, literacy, and access. I have published on topics including the design of digital welfare benefit systems, and the complexities of digital skills and access interventions in the North East of England's health and voluntary sectors. Increasingly, this includes AI literacy as a 'new frontier' in digital literacy. I am currently working on projects along these lines in domains such as health and social care, the future of energy, and multilateral youth engagement. I have supported teaching on topics including user experience design, software engineering, ubiquitous computing, the social impacts of technology
