About

Dr. Brittany Smith received her B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. She received her Ph.D. in July 2024 from Duke University in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Before joining NC State, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering. At NC State, Dr. Smith will use additive manufacturing technology, including 2D printers, to develop sensors, transistors, memory devices, and microrobotics. She is driven to further develop printed electronics so that one day active devices, such as transistors, may be integrated into everyday systems like wearable electronics and be customized for extreme environments including space and undersea.
