About

Mark Hepple studied Psychology at Sheffield University (BSc, 1986), and Cognitive Science at Edinburgh University (MSc, 1987; PhD, 1990). Thereafter, he was a Research Associate at Cambridge University (1990-92), and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania (1992-93).He joined the Department of Computer Science at Sheffield University in 1993, as a Lecturer, and as a member of the Natural Language Processing group. He retired his post in July 2026 but continues to foster close relationships with the school as an Honorary Senior Lecturer.
