About

I am the Founder and Lead of the AI in Medicine and Surgery (AIMS) Group at the University of Leeds, with over 15 years of experience in medical, biomedical, and surgical data analysis, specialising in medical imaging and computer vision. My research focuses on developing artificial intelligence methods addressing medical and biomedical image analysis problems. It includes radiology data (X-ray, CT/MRI, Ultrasound etc), endoscopy (aquired by camera), minimally invasive surgery data, robotic surgery data (images and kinematics), and image-guided interventions (multimodal fusion), with an emphasis on clinically robust and generalisable systems. I have been recognised among the Elsevier and Stanford World’s Top 2% Scientists (2023–2025). My work has also been supported by major competitive fu
