Florin Bidian is a professor of the practice and the coordinator of the economics–data science program at Northeastern University, based in Seattle and jointly appointed between the Khoury College of Computer Sciences and the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. Bidian has spent his professional life exploring the intersection of data science, machine learning, and economics — both in the financial and tech industries and in academia at the University of Minnesota, Macalester College, and Georgia State University. Bidian joined Northeastern after five years as a senior economist at Amazon. Bidian’s favorite part of his job is helping students to succeed in their chosen fields, as well as helping them to appreciate the massive impact of recent computing developments on modern economie
