Jayshree Sarathy is an assistant professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston. She is a member of the Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute. Sarathy’s research explores the political and sociotechnical dynamics of responsible data science, with a focus on privacy and data access. Incorporating technical computer science expertise and social science theory, she analyzes public-interest data infrastructures such as the US federal statistical system and the Wikimedia Foundation. Sarathy has published a variety of papers in CS conferences, including ACM CHI, CSCW, PETS, and FORC, as well as in interdisciplinary and social science journals such as Critical Sociology, the Journal of Survey Statistics and Methodology, and the Harvard Data Science
