Kyle Wray

About

Kyle Wray is a research assistant professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston. He is a member of Northeastern’s Institute for Experiential Robotics. Fascinated by the idea of robots that work harmoniously with humans, Wray has made his research home at the intersection of theoretical AI, machine learning, and applied robotics. Using techniques like reinforcement learning, decision theory, stochastic processes, and optimization with a specific foundation of Markov decision processes, he explores the theoretical foundations and practical implementations of decision-making under uncertainty. In doing so, Wray aims to build safe, interpretable, and efficient autonomous robots; enable them to work collaboratively with humans; and deploy them
