Lisanne is a Lecturer in Law at the School of Law. Prior to transitioning to full-time academia, she worked in legal practice at law firms in Amsterdam and Sydney. She has also been affiliated with the University of Sydney, and between 2018 and 2022 she was an Honorary Associate in the School of Psychology. This role supported her collaboration with forensic psychology scholars examining the psychological aspects of criminal procedure, with a particular focus on false confessions. Her research focuses on criminal law and procedure, coercion in the criminal process, undercover policing, evidence law, and the interaction between criminal procedure, technology and forensic psychology, with a particular emphasis on how these factors shape and affect access to justice.
