Matthias Zwicker is the Elizabeth Iribe Chair for Innovation and the Phillip H. and Catherine C. Horvitz Professor of Computer Science, and currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Computer Science. He joined UMD in March 2017 as the Reginald Allan Hahne Endowed E-Nnovate Professor in Computer Science. He obtained his PhD from ETH in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2003. From 2003 to 2006 he was a post-doctoral associate with the computer graphics group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and then held a position as an Assistant Professor at the University of California in San Diego from 2006 to 2008.
