About

I am Professor of Computer and Information Security and co-founder (2017) of the Security of Advanced Systens Research Group. I have major interests in security and safety and the role ML can play in solving problems in those domains. Most recent work focusses on cybersecurity. I also have long term interests in the harnessing of ML (and optimisation based approaches) for the purposes of synthesising novel algorithms for Quantum Computing. Very recent work has investigated deepfake detection. I have provided consultancy to various HMG agencies and also to commercial companies.
