Stephen Childress is a Professor of Mathematics, Emeritus at NYU Courant. His research interests include classical fluid mechanics, asymptotic methods, geophysical fluid dynamics, magnetohydrodynamics, dynamo theory, mathematical models in biology, and locomotion in fluids. His current work focuses on vorticity growth in Euler flows of incompressible fluids in three dimensions.
