Tristan Buckmaster is a mathematician at NYU's Courant Institute. His research focuses on singularity formation in compressible and incompressible fluids, self-similar blowup, and developing a rigorous framework for wave turbulence. He previously worked on convex integration to prove non-uniqueness of weak solutions to fluid equations, and received the 2019 Clay Research Award for joint work on Navier-Stokes non-uniqueness.
